Meet Dave & Kathy DeRose

New & Improved Springfield Antique Barn Under New Ownership

With over 30,000 square feet of antiques and collectibles, the Springfield Antique Barn is one of the largest and well known antique malls in Tennessee. Under new ownership by David & Kathy DeRose, the process has begun to make it even grander.

The DeRose’s acquired the mall in May but have already made big strides. Starting with climate control, video security, air-conditioning, new bathrooms, and a brand new loading dock and the husband and wife team say they have only just begun.

If you haven’t been to the Springfield Antique Barn lately, the minute you walk into the door you’ll notice the design and architectural changes almost immediately. The DeRose duo have designed and built an entirely new front checkout counter and added many new vendors. One tour downstairs and you’ll see about a 50 percent increase in new booths. It’s hard to believe anyone could fit more antiques in the mall but the DeRose’s have done just that. It’s a bit remarkable how much the DeRose’s have accomplished in such a short time.  The look and feel is absolutely beautiful and well worth a visit if you have not been in a while.

The DeRose’s plan is to continue the improvements over the next year so each time you visit you’ll likely see something new. Vendors at the mall told Smokey Barn News that they are delighted with what the DeRose’s are doing and it’s attracting new vendors as well.

Restoration is nothing new for the DeRose’s, the team has taken on many other projects over the years and it’s clear they have an eye for preservation while adding needed improvements to a property. The DeRose’s tell Smokey Barn News they are committed to being a part of Springfield and Robertson County community. The duo has also recently acquired another local building. The building sits right across from the beautiful Robertson County Courthouse at 508 Main. Upgrades are being added to the property but the plan is to locate a tenant that can appreciate the building’s unique location.

The DeRose’s  focus will be to create a family-friendly sense of community within the historic building at 700 Willow St.
